Smartphones have been a revelation in our lives and it is the mobile apps that have really captured our hearts and our minds to these smartphones. While many of these apps are purely for the entertainment purpose, there are others which serve an important focus in our daily lives. For example, the app which monitors the heart rate of a cardio patient is very important to that patient. The ease with which we use the app is not there while developing it. Custom development of an app is an art and it is really not an easy position to be in. Everyone loves to subscribe apps but the firm that creates app wants its users to love their cost effective mobile apps.

If one focuses on streamlined business, then it is pretty easy to tell the return of investments and related stuff. However, the difficulty creeps in when one is asked to compare the initial investment with the returns. Thus, whenever a user subscribes apps and those too cost effective mobile apps, the returns of investment become twofold. There are basically three types of mobile applications namely native apps, web apps and hybrid apps. If one understands the concept of all these three above mentioned apps then the concept of cost effective mobile apps and their support would be automatically understood.

The most important feature of a native app is that it is built only for a single operating system. For example, if an app is built for android OS, then it would not be working in both iOS and Windows OS. Web apps use the same technology as used by the websites and thus there is no dependence whatsoever on the operating system. Hybrid apps on the other hand uses Web apps but in a native container. From all this aforementioned discussion, we can understand that the native apps run only on the native browser of the mobile software while both the web apps as well as the hybrid apps run on any latest browser that has HTML5 support.

Now we come to the performance aspect of these apps. While the native apps are fast in execution, both the web apps as well as the hybrid apps are bit on the slower side. But this can be understood owing to the fact that the native apps run on any one operating system. Now it is important to understand that web apps are the cost effective mobile apps and thus should always be used. The reason for this above mentioned statement is the fact that the native apps have a very limited usage while on the other hand hybrid apps show that they are using the best of the native and web apps, they have no added advantage over the web apps. In terms of maintenance cost too, web apps are the lowest while hybrid apps almost on the same ground with web apps in terms of performance, are the dearer ones along with native apps.

All these features point in only one direction that only ready to run mobile apps must be invested into as well as used.
